Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

"...an amazing queer fiction"

-Shrishti Gupta (SOE)

If you're looking for a book filled with lyrical writing, beautiful quotes, wholesome characters, friendship, love and a journey of self-discovery, you might wanna read this one.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz is about Aristotle, an angry teen with a brother in prison and Dante, a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

It was an absolutely heartwarming book with amazing character development and the best portrayal of healthy, supportive parents.

While Aristotle and Dante were very different from each other, I could somehow still relate to both of them.

The book was cheesy at times but that didn't hinder the experience at all, nor did it change the fact that it's one of my favourite books now.

So if you're looking for wholesome queer/LGBTQ fiction, you might wanna add this to your list!
