NGO - YODA FOUNDATION

Although everyone understands the word "loyalty," only a few people genuinely demonstrate it toward others. What an irony, isn't it? A phrase coined by a species but rarely used by that specie. When we hear the term, we immediately think of animals, particularly dogs, and cats. I recently got the pleasure to visit a non-profit organization dedicated to the most loyal species known to mankind. YODA (Youth Organization in Defense of Animals) rehabilitation center is a Mumbai-based NGO that was started with a vision to help abandoned animals throughout the country and provide homes for these abandoned and stray animals. The organization actively finds homes for stray animals (dogs and cats) and mass sterilizations of stray animals in different zones across Mumbai and surrounding regions.
At the NGO, I witnessed genuine affection and strong feelings for the animals; from the cleaner to the manager, everyone is dedicated to the welfare of the animals. There were several strays who had been tortured and traumatized, but I saw them improve throughout my time there. Every day, they were putting up their best effort to improve, and it was quite inspiring to witness them.
Isn't it wonderful how creatures we don't comprehend or perceive can teach us so much and provide us with the pleasures of life simply by being happy? I hope to live in a world where all species are free, not confined to their owners or cages, and have the opportunity to live lives filled with love and affection. Although that day has not yet arrived and will require a great deal of effort, there is still hope in the world. So let’s bring big smiles under those boopy noses.
