World Cancer Day is the only worldwide movement that brings people from all over the world together to combat the global cancer pandemic. Every year on February 4th, it takes place.

Every year, World Cancer Day strives to save millions of lives through boosting cancer awareness and education, as well as pressuring governments and individuals around the world to take action against the illness.

On February 4th, thousands of people all across the world came together to demand more fairness and equitable access to cancer care as part of World Cancer Day. There were more than 20,000 media mentions and hundreds of thousands of social media engagements. Around the world, landmarks were lighted up, awareness and fundraising events were held in person and online, and governments committed to improve cancer control.

Cancer ribbons are a great way to raise awareness, but sometimes people aren't sure what a specific colour of ribbon is for. If you wish to know more about the cancer ribbon colours, here’s a handy chart that lists the cancer types and some of the awareness months associated with them.
